Group transfer polymerization (GTP) is a new method of synthesizing polymers discovered by Webster et al. It can be carried out under very mild conditions and can successfully control the polymerization process and the microstructure of the product so as to achieve the purpose of controlling product performance. Therefore, the polymer design has an important position. Currently there are three main types of monomers suitable for GTP: acrylonitrile, acrylates and methacrylates.
