Heat Pipe NASA originally developed a heat pipe to control the temperature of sensitive space electronics. Heat pipe is a very simple but excellent heat transfer performance of the device. A single heat pipe is a closed tube filled with a small amount of refrigerant. In a heat pipe system composed of a plurality of heat pipes, each of the closed pipes is inclined so that the refrigerant in the pipes can flow to the lower end under the force of gravity. The heat pipe is equipped with an evaporator at the lower end and a condenser at the upper end. When the refrigerant flows to the lower end of the heat pipe, it will vaporize while absorbing heat.
