英语和汉语一样，很多词语是不可以按字面意思去理解的，否则就容易产生误会，比如下面这些，可千万不要误会它们哦。
01 busybody
从字面意思看，是“忙碌的人”，但事实上，它可不是“大忙人”的意思，而是指“多管闲事的人”。
例如：Sara is a busybody， always poking her nose into other people’s affairs.莎拉是个好管闲事的人，老是打听别人的事。
02 green hand
从字面意思看，是“绿色的手”，但实际上是“新手，没有经验的人”的意思。
例如：You shouldn’t have a green hand do that job alone. He could screw it up.你不能让一个新手单独做那件事，他可能会搞砸的。
03 white man
从字面意思看，是“白人”的意思，但实际上是指“忠实可靠的人，善良的人”。
例如：Joey， thanks for helping me findback my cat. You’re a white man.乔伊，谢谢你帮我找回我的猫，你真是个好人。
04 dead president
从字面意思看，是“已经去世的总统”，但实际的意思是“钱，美元”，因为美国的钞票上印有总统头像。
例如：The hat just costs 10 dead presidents.这顶帽子只要10块钱。
05 horse sense
从字面意思看，是“马的感觉”，但其实不是，而是指“常识，普通常用的知识”。
例如：Some people are well educated and have read many books， but still do not have much horse sense.有些人受过良好的教育，也读过许多书，但普通常识仍然不足。
06 service station
从字面意思看，是“服务站”，其实是专指“加油站，高速公路服务站”。
例如：There’s little gas in the tank， so we drove to a service station nearby at first.油箱里油不多了，所以我们先去了附近的一个加油站。
07 sweet water
从字面意思看，是“甜水”的意思，但实际上却是指“淡水”。
例如：Travelling on the sea and surrounded by water， the sailors had to save every drop of sweet water.在海上旅行，被海水包围，水手们必须珍惜每一滴淡水。
08 capital idea
从字面意思看，是“资本主义思想”，但事实上，这个词组的意思是“好主意”。
例如：Mitchell came up with a capital idea. He asked Hailey to dress up as the Tooth Fairy and let Lily give back the hundred-dollar bill.米奇尔想到一个好主意。他让海莉装扮成牙仙，让莉莉交还那一百元钱。
09 blue blood
从字面意思看，是“蓝血”的意思，实际上指“有钱人或出身富家的人”。
例如：Some people do not want to admit that they have blue blood.有些人不愿承认自己是富家出身。
Many blue-blooded children attend this private school.許多有钱人家的孩子就读这所私立学校。
10 bed of roses
字面意思是“玫瑰花床”，实际上指“称心如意的境遇”；美好理想的“安乐窝”。
例如：Life is not always a bed of roses.生活未必都是称心如意的。
