“孔子圣迹图”的创作,与其说是孔子生平的图像再现,毋宁说是一种更具象征意义的思想表达。圣迹图的倡导者们希望通过图像来表达对孔子、对儒学正统的“景行希望之念”和“高山仰止”之意,但真正留给落实此一意图的刻绘者们的创作空间似乎并不总是自由的。他们受到的限制一方面来自前代图像,另一方面来自既有文本。创新的理想能够真正落实到具体的图像刻绘上,便通常只是对前代图像进行有限度的增删或调序。
The creation of “Confucian Sacred Map” is not so much an image reproduction of Confucius’s life as it is rather a more symbolic expression of thought. Advocates of the holy road map hope that Confucius, Confucian orthodoxy, “Hope of the King” and “Alpine Yangzhiban” are expressed through images, but they are really reserved for the realization of this intention People’s creative space does not seem always free. Their restrictions come from the images of the previous generation on the one hand and the existing texts on the other. Innovative ideals can really be implemented to a specific image engraving, it is usually just a limited addition or deletion of the previous generation of images.
