Tumor angiogenesis is a highly regulatable process under the influence of host microenvironment and media. Studies on breast, ovarian and cervical cancers suggest that neovascularization may be associated with tumor metastasis and recurrence. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an important regulator of endometrial angiogenesis. Its receptors flt-1, KDR / flk-1 are also good markers of angiogenesis.
