走进恐龙时代——美国卡内基自然历史博物馆散记

2010年10月,我参加了在美国宾夕法尼亚州匹兹堡市举办的北美古脊椎动物学会第70届年会。赴美之前我就听说过坐落于匹兹堡市的卡内基自然历史博物馆(以下简称博物馆),作为北美洲古生物学的发祥地,这里已经成为全球古生物学者心中的圣地。博物馆内收藏着来自世界各地的恐龙化石,从高大的梁龙到保存最为完整的霸王龙,乃至最新发现的窃蛋龙等一应俱全,丰富的化石藏品吸引着全世界的古生物爱好者。会议结束之前,作为主办方之一的博物馆邀请与 In October 2010, I attended the 70th Annual Meeting of the North American Society of Vertebrate Paleontology in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA. Before I went to the United States, I heard about the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. As the cradle of paleontology in North America, it has become a sacred place for the world’s paleontologists. Museum collection of dinosaur fossils from around the world, from the tall Diplodocus to the most complete preserved Tyrannosaurus, and even the latest discovery of the Egg Egg and other readily available, rich fossil collections to attract the world’s paleontology enthusiasts.
