新中国成立前后,随着人民解放军胜利进军的步伐,人民币也在逐步占领全国市场。人民币在本币化过程中,除了要取代国民党政府发行的伪币外,还面临着黄金、银元和外币(包括美元、英镑和港币,其中主要是港币)的强大挑战,其中斗争最为激烈的地区当属上海和广东。为此,新生政权先后组织了两场重大的金融战役,其一是由陈云领导的上海银元之战,其二是由以叶剑英为首的中共华南分局领导的广东港币之战。
Before and after the founding of New China, the renminbi was gradually occupying the national market as the PLA marched to victory. In addition to replacing the counterfeit currency issued by the Kuomintang government, the renminbi faces a formidable challenge of gold, silver and foreign currencies (including the United States dollar, the pound and the Hong Kong dollar, mainly Hong Kong dollars) during the course of the currency monetization. Among the most fiercely contested areas, the renminbi Is Shanghai and Guangdong. To this end, the new regime has organized two major financial campaigns: one led by Chen Yun, Shanghai Silver Dollar war, and the other led by Yeh, who led by the South China Branch of the Guangdong Hong Kong dollar war.
