The bronze inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty are divided into three parts: early, middle and late styles. The early style inherited and developed bronze inscriptions and oracle bone inscriptions in the Late Shang Dynasty. The bronze inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty reached maturity and showed obvious features ; Late bronze inscriptions books toward the standardization and aesthetic. The evolvement of the inscription style features in the three stages is closely related to the “system of ritual and courtship” in the Western Zhou Dynasty and created the golden age of calligraphy in Chinese history.
