In this paper, two oil-rich reservoirs in Africa were evaluated for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The objective of the evaluation is to determine the economic and technical feasibility of EOR technology. This study evaluated 13 well-established and widely used EOR technologies. The approximate range of crude oil recovery including viable EOR technologies and independent project economic evaluations were studied. The data needed for the study include fluid and petrophysical properties; driving mechanism; production data; original petroleum geological reserves and recoverable reserves; and relative permeability curves. Screening criteria for various EOR techniques include reservoir parameters tables and parameter ranges tables that may make the study successful and may also be used to fit the parameters of the field under study. Estimating expected oil recovery and correlation using integrated reservoir parameters. Based on independent project economics, the economically viable feasibility of EOR technology was evaluated. Project economy takes into account the proceeds of oil production, as well as the corresponding operating costs and investment costs. The evaluation results show that steam flooding and pyrolysis oil layers are the most technically feasible oil recovery technologies, followed by chemical flooding. The technology of steam flooding and fire burning has a very broad prospect. The recovery rate can reach 49%, which is 24% higher than the waterflood recovery. However, burning the oil layer can increase oil production rate, which mainly affects the economic feasibility evaluation. It also shows that the burned formation is the most economically and technologically advanced oil recovery technique. Prediction and economic evaluation of crude oil recovery based on EOR technology assessment, chemical flooding, gas flooding, thermal recovery and microbial enhanced oil recovery techniques will help to develop a long-term strategy for applying EOR technology to oilfields.
