Hungary has joined Inmarsat (International Mobile Satellite Organization) as the 81st member country of the organization. On July 24, 1997, Istvan Hazay, the general manager of Hungary Satellite Communications Corporation (HUNSAT), signed an operating agreement for International Telecommunications Satellites in London, England.
