从修辞学的角度讲,在句子中使用“像”字,是为了用不同的表达形式来表述同一内容,目的是加强句子的表达效果。例如:“人群像平静的水面上卷过一阵风,成为一个整体朝前涌去。”这个句子本来所要表达的内容是“很多人一齐朝前奔去”,但为了使这个内容更为形象,更能给人留人深刻的印象,作者便在这个句子中加上“像”字,又用“平静的水面上卷过一阵风”打一个比方,形成一种含有“像”字的固定句式——明喻。由于这个缘故,“像”这个词便以明喻的喻词的面目出现了。因此就给人们一种凡是含有“像”的句子都是明喻的认知。其实不然。例如:
