IPS technology was introduced by Hitachi, Japan in 2001. It utilizes liquid crystal molecules for plane switching to improve the viewing angle. IPS is used to increase the viewing angle by maximizing the plane rotation angle of the liquid crystal molecules driven by the thickness of the panel, the frictional strength and the transverse electric field .
