Certain enzymes in the brain show relatively specific isoenzymes and can be used as an indicator of brain damage. It has been reported that elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity and increased creatine kinase (CK) total activity in cerebrospinal fluid of patients with neurological disorders or CNS injury, but little is known about CK isozymes. The authors therefore investigated the LDH and CK isozymes in serum and cerebrospinal fluid of a four-and-a-half-year-old girl with toxic convulsions. The girl was drinking a large number of alcoholic beverages convulsive syndrome and medical treatment, clinical symptoms aggravated after 24 hours to the Medical College pediatric, electroencephalography found hemiblock pattern-like state, mainly involving the right upper and lower extremities, EEG The figure shows diffuse slow waves in the hemisphere of the brain, and persistence of multi-sharp waves, which also disappear when clonic seizures are taken. 72-hour girl was admitted to hospital died, autopsy without hematoma, bleeding, no abnormal findings.
