近年来随着城市化进程的加快，全国不少古建筑在旧城改造中被拆毁，造成了无法弥补的损失。今年3月，浙江省海宁市建于明正德年间具有480年历史的徐志摩故居又被当地政府拆毁；现在，广东省澄海市政府居然发出了清拆建于清乾隆年间的“五马垂芳”古宅的“最后通牒”。对此，我们表示强烈的忧患！难道我们在搞现代化的过程中，就一定要干这种上对不起祖宗，下对不起子孙的建设性破坏的蠢事吗？难道我们就不能在泱泱华夏大地上，像保护诸如山西平遥古城、皖南西递古宅、江南周庄和西塘那样，多留下些中华瑰宝吗？我们本期刊发的这篇文章，以呼吁各地政府和开发商们手下留情！
In recent years, with the acceleration of the process of urbanization, many ancient buildings across the country have been demolished in the transformation of old cities, causing irreparable damage. In March this year, the former residence of Xu Zhimo, 480 years old, built in Hedin City, Zhejiang Province during the Ming and Qing Dynasties was demolished by the local government.
