被誉为中国第一代摇滚人的杰出代表刘义君(唐朝老五),以其高超的吉他演奏技艺和一首《梦回唐朝》当年曾让多少追随者如醉如痴。前几何时直至今日“南捞仔,北老五”成为怀抱吉他的后来者们膜拜的对象。离开唐朝乐队后,本姓刘的“老五”对唐朝的情感丝毫没有减少。他仍然愿意让朋友喊他“唐朝老五”,永远。因为那是时代给他的名字,是青春留下的呼唤。今天的老五,比当年理性了许多。吉他仍是他的最爱,却不是他的唯一。在他的音乐里,一边恋着传统(借鉴古筝古琴改造吉他的结构),一边追着现代(借助电子设备丰富吉他的音色)。他不再以师带徒传技术,而是集体教学求正规。绘画使他丰富修养,陶冶性情;演出也是精心策划,认真筹备,不轻易跑穴。今日老五,更注重思想。他说没有独自的思想,当不了好音乐人,不掌握新的技术,音乐就没有时代感。
