The cause of stainless steel intergranular corrosion is a more studied and unsolved problem. The purpose of this article is to provide some superficial insight into this issue through some electrochemical measurements and corrosion tests of stainless steel in boiling 15% sulfuric acid and boiling 65% nitric acid.
