Abstract Objectives The model-based numerical method uses ultra-short echo time (UTE) MRI to quantify the free and bound components of cortical bone in vivo to introduce a new prediction of age-related cortical degeneration factor. Materials and Methods Human studies are HIPAA compliant and approved by Ethics Committee. Using dual-time 3D hybrid radial UTE imaging, post-processing algorithms are applied to quantify free cortical water and bound water parameters
