始建于1876年的曼谷文华东方酒店迎来了她140岁的生日。作为泰国第一家五星级酒店，近一个半世纪的历史非但没有给她带来沧桑的面容，岁月的痕迹反倒使她愈发的优雅迷人。纵贯泰国全境的湄南河水默默的诉说着暹罗的古老，坐落在湄南河畔的曼谷文华东方酒店也在这史诗般缓缓流淌的河畔边静谧伫立。仿佛大树一般，默默扎下根，经过时间的洗礼，枝繁叶茂。
Built in 1876 and ideally located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River， Mandarin Oriental， Bangkok has already welcomed her 140th birthday. The Oriental， as it was then known， was the first luxury hotel in the Kingdom of Siam. History of nearly a century and a half rather than brought her vicissitudes， but the years trace to make her becoming more elegant and charming.

In the beginning， the Oriental was just a two-story white house with high ceiling， clean and tidy dining room and beautiful environment. After several times renovation， the small white house now has become one of the oriental flavor space. As the symbol building， the Mandarin Oriental Hotel has an important status in Bangkok， even in Thai and the world. Beginning with Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Joseph Conrad during the late-nineteenth-century， the legendary hotel has welcomed numerous heads of state， captains of industry and a host of world renowned writers and celebrities over the years and has long been famous for its service， style and elegance. Joseph Conrad， John le Carre and William Somerset Maugham all came here find the inspiration.

The hotel has recently completed a comprehensive renovation of the historic Authors' and Garden Wings. Designed to significantly enhance the facilities and services of this award winning hotel， the renovation has restored the historic heart of the property to its original splendor.
古典的竹味Classical Bamboo

The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental， Bangkok has been refurbished to give it a more contemporary look that retains its iconic character as a classic cocktail bar. Originally opened in a tiny room within the hotel's renowned Authors Wing， in 1953， the Bamboo Bar has grown into an institution frequented by world high society. The essence of the old bar inspired the new look created by Thai designers， P49 DEESIGN. Bamboo is used extensively for the bar， chairs and wall and ceiling finishes. Thai silk cushions with bamboo print patterns grace sofas. A mirrored ceiling， with vintage mirrors in black bamboo frames， provides a contemporary twist that juxtaposes with colonial-style， rattan ceiling fans.
As the first choice of wedding and the afternoon tea， the renowned Authors' Lounge – a favorite destination for afternoon tea， society weddings and elegant events – has been restored to its classic late-nineteenth-century design and has been further extended to flow seamlessly through to the hotel's riverside terrace and gardens via four salons named after famous authors who were guests of the hotel： Joseph Conrad， Somerset Maugham， No?l Coward and James Michener.

The legendary Mandarin Oriental， Bangkok kicked off its 140th anniversary celebration in style on 27 January 2016 with a gala event presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand. The heads of the famed hotel's majority owning companies – Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's Chief Executive， Mr. Edouard Ettedgui， and Senior Executive Vice President of Italian-Thai Development Company Limited， Mrs. Nijaporn Charanachitta – welcomed 500 esteemed guests， including the Kingdom's Minister of Tourism， Her Excellency Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul， captains of industry， celebrities and many of the hotel's loyal international patrons. Guests were treated to a lavish gala dinner on the Riverside Terrace， a moving tribute to the famed hotel's history and spectacular fireworks over the Chao Phraya River.
The Oriental famous for not only those features， but also famed for introducing Michelin starred chefs in all hotel restaurants. The hotel's private teakwood shuttle boats provide daily access to the world famous Thai Cooking School， also take the guests taste of the sight of the beautiful scene on the quiet river. The famous SPA which was in the first floor of the Garden Wing attracted many people came here， not only the guests of the Hotel， but also the native person.
