The discovery of the epitaph epithets of Japanese Jing Jingcheng in the Tang Dynasty once again aroused people’s attention to the cultural exchange between China and Japan over 1,200 years ago. A deeper study on the epitaphs has become a common issue for historians in China and Japan. Through comparing with the epitaphs of the Tang Dynasty and the ancient Japanese epitaphs in the same period and combining with the historical background, this paper argues that the rough production of epitaphs of Jingzhencheng is related to the time’s rush at that time. In the past, “; Jing really be given ” Shang Yi Feng Yu “post is the Tang government’s special privilege; national number ” Japan "records should be the oldest surviving cases; the difference between Chinese and Japanese epitaph is worth further Discussion topics.
