张大千先生擅长临摹古代绘画,其水平之高,不仅当代屈指,即使置之古代画史中,亦罕有人能与之匹敌。因其擅长此技,其早年时颇多伪作名人书画,也是世人皆知的不争事实。他所伪作的古代名人书画,尤以仿学石涛的绘画最得形神,因之最具迷惑力,使许多素负善鉴声名的书画家、鉴赏家,也不免难辨雌雄而上当。有关此类逸事,无论口老相传,还是研究张大千先生平生艺事的撰述中,颇多不同的“版本”之传。本人曾与北京琉璃厂古玩字画行业的前辈老人多有接触,他们又曾与年轻时代的张大千先生有所来往,似乎每个人都有些关于张大千的掌故之谈,现择以有关张大千伪作石涛绘画的二则逸事略作趣谈。 Mr. Zhang Daqian is good at copying the ancient paintings. The high level of his paintings not only represents the current generation, but even in the history of ancient paintings, few people can match it. Because of his good at this technique, many of his early years fake celebrity calligraphy and painting, is also an undisputed fact known. His ancient paintings and calligraphers’ fiction, especially the most dexterous form of imitation of Shitao’s paintings, are the most enchanting of painters and calligraphers and connoisseurs who are well-known for their good and bad points. There are quite a few different versions of the biography about such anecdotes, no matter whether they are old-fashioned or the works of Mr. Zhang Daqian’s penmanship. I had many contacts with the elders of the antiques and paintings industry in Beijing’s Liulichang. Since they also had contacts with Mr. Zhang Daqian in their younger days, everyone seems to have some anecdote about Zhang Daqian. Two anecdotes slightly for fun talk.
