When I taught Bing Xin’s “Little Orange Light”, I asked this question: The young girl in the text was only eight or nine years old. Why did she have the spirit of “calmness, courage, and optimism?” It caused heated discussions among the students. . “Yeah, a girl of eight or nine years old, how could such a quality be? We are all older than she is, not as mature as she is.” There were several girls who were whispering. I deliberately asked another question: Did the author pull up the image of the character? The quiet class was like a hot pot and a salt was removed, and it became lively. The discussion talked about the special circumstances and the influence of his father Wang Chunlin on the little girl. In conclusion, I affirmed the results of the students’ discussion. I purposely remind everyone that we have neglected the effect of a character on the little girl. The discussion set off another climax. During the close reading, the students found that Hu Dafu in the article was a non-negligible figure. Although she did not play, she mentioned three times in the girl’s conversation.
