In this paper, we investigated the effects of different hormone concentrations, cuttings collection time, cutting medium, the location and type of cuttings and the carving on the rooting of semi-hardwood cuttings of Hayward kiwifruit. The rooting rate was highest with the annual tops and middle shoots as cuttings, at 88% and 67% respectively. The rooting rate of cuttings in mid-June to mid-July was higher than that of cuttings in September. The two internals cut at the lower buds were of higher quality than the roots of one internodal cut, but the rooting rates of both were substantially the same. The rooting rate of two internodes with 4.0 or 6.0 g / l IBA treatment was not significantly different (58% and 69%, respectively), but the root quality of the latter was higher than that of the latter. The cuttings with vermiculite cuttings were higher quality roots than the ones with perlite or peat: perlite mixed with matrices and had a higher rooting rate than the latter.
