1927年4月23日,普宁人民举行革命暴动,四千多农民自卫军围攻县城,因缺少攻坚武器,几次攻击均未奏效。攻城指挥部命令农军暂停攻城,于25日傍晚在八乡小学二楼上开会部署下一步行动计划。出席会议的有中共普宁县委书记、一副学者姿态的陈魁亚,中共汕头地委委员、汕头总工会委员长、书生模样的杨石魂,普宁农民自卫军基干大队大队长、攻城指挥部副总指挥、魁梧大汉何石、黄埔军校毕业生、省农民协会潮梅海陆丰办事处农军部主任、攻城指挥部总指挥李芳岐等。经过议论,大家一致认为:目前围城与打援,要重点放在打援上;而重点的重点应把揭城尤振国这一路作为主要打击目标。计议已定,大家立刻分头行动起来。
On April 23, 1927, the people of Puning held a revolutionary uprising and more than 4,000 peasant self-defense forces siege the county. Because of the lack of storming weapons, several attacks failed to work. The siege command ordered the agricultural army to suspend the siege, and held a meeting on the second floor of Pat Heung Elementary School in the evening of the 25th to deploy the next action plan. Present at the meeting were Chen Kuiya, secretary of the CPC Puning county party committee and a scholar of the state, member of the Shantou Municipal Committee of the CPC, chairman of the Shantou Federation of Trade Unions, Yang Shurun as a scholar, chief of the Puning Peasant Self-Defense Forces’ Commanding, burly Han Ho, Whampoa Military Academy graduates, the provincial farmers Association Chao Meihai Lufeng Office of the director of the Agricultural Department, siege commander Li Fangqi and other commanders. After discussion, we all agreed that the current siege and aid should be focused on aid. However, the key points should be the main target of launching the town of Youzhen Guo. The plan has been set and everyone immediately moves away from it.
