Our People’s Republic has victoriously gone through 50 years of glorious history with heroic stance. In these 50 years, there are many achievements worthy of history, and the new Chinese oil industry created by the oil people is undoubtedly one of the most exciting chapters. I read a series of lengthy reportages entitled “The Blood of the Republic,” published by Hong Cheng in the recent “China writer” magazine last week. I met with the satisfaction that life itself produces literature, and literature can both write history and recognize the future. What is blood? Blood is the source of all life.
