朝鲜族历来就有崇尚文化、重视教育的传统美德,延边素有“教育之乡”的美誉。建州50年来,延边朝鲜族教育在党的民族政策指引下,取得了令人瞩目的辉煌成绩。朝鲜族教育在改革和发展中形成了从幼儿教育、普通中小学教育、中等职业教育到高等教育的门类齐全、层次完备、相互衔接、协调发展、水平较高、特点鲜明的民族教育体系。延边的朝鲜族教育起步早、基础好。早在60年代,小学和初中的入学率就超过90%。党的十一届三中全会之后,基础教育的普及步伐明显加快,1992年和1993年分别完成普及初等义务教育和基本扫除青壮年文盲的历史任务,并通过全州上上下下的艰苦奋斗,于1997年按规划如期基本普及了九年义务教育,实现了几代人梦寐以求的夙愿。在基本完成“普九”任务的基础上,延边州把推进素质教育放在突出位置,根据边疆少数民族地区的实际情况,在理论和实践的结合方面,进行了积极的探索。尤其是在以朝鲜族中小学双语教学改革为突破口,在全州范围内进行民族教育整体改革实验,历经10余年取得了丰硕成果,为在新世纪学出一条既符合全国教育教学发展方向,又具有延边朝鲜族教育特点的新路子奠定了坚实的基础。
The Korean people have always admired the culture and attached importance to the traditional virtues of education. Yanbian is known as the “hometown of education”. In the 50 years since its founding, Korean education in Yanbian has made remarkable achievements under the guidance of the party’s ethnic policy. In the process of reform and development, Korean education has formed a national education system with complete categories, complete levels, interconnectedness, coordinated development, high level and distinctive characteristics from early childhood education, general primary and secondary education, secondary vocational education to higher education. Yanbian Korean education started early, good foundation. As early as the 1960s, enrollment rates in primary and secondary schools exceeded 90%. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the pace of popularization of basic education was markedly accelerated. In 1992 and 1993, the task of popularizing primary compulsory education and the basic elimination of illiteracy among young and middle-aged people were completed. Through the arduous struggles of the entire state, In 1997, nine-year compulsory education was basically popularized as scheduled according to the plan, realizing the long-cherished wish of several generations. On the basis of basically fulfilling the task of universal compulsory education, Yanbian Prefecture put the promotion of quality-oriented education in a prominent position. In accordance with the actual conditions in the minority nationality areas in the border areas, Yanbian Prefecture actively explored the combination of theory and practice. In particular, taking the bilingual education reform of primary and secondary schools in Korea as a breakthrough point, we have conducted experiments in the reform of ethnic education throughout the state. After more than 10 years, we have achieved fruitful results. In the new century, we have come up with one that is both in line with the national education and teaching development. It has laid a solid foundation for the new path of Yanbian Korean education.
