This thesis compares John Milton’s On His Deceased Wife with Su Shi’s Dreaming of My Deceased Wife. Both of the poems are memorial poetry,and both of them are about cherishing their dead wives through their dreams. This paper mainly analyzes the similarities and differences of the two poems with the same theme. The writers belong to different times and different areas,and the thesis wants to show the ideas,writing styles and cultural backgrounds through these similarities and differences.
