The most intriguing aspect of multi-electrode pole cochlear implants is the possible long-term adverse effects of physiology, including spiral ganglion cells, neuronal degeneration and new bone formation. The authors performed a clinical study of 5 patients implanted with multi-conductor Cochlear implants in Australia to evaluate the possible damage caused by using this cochlear implant. These patients use the device daily for 10 to 19 hours, comparing the results of one year after surgery with the results of three months of training after surgery. Test items include electrical thresholds and comfort thresholds for each electrode, pure sound and speech thresholds for speech fields, speech recognition thresholds, vowels and auxiliary
