睡眠需要量因年龄而异,出生及幼年时最多,老年时减少。成年人夜间睡眠约为7~8小时,但个体差异很大,有人短于6小时,或长于9小时。就每个人而言,虽然各有其比较固定的睡眠模式,但有时也会多睡一些或少睡一些。为什么有睡眠需要量的差别?影响睡眠需要量的是些什么因素?国外近二十年来有不少研究,介绍于下:
