The source of the Yarlung Zangbo River comes from the glacier and mountain springs. Due to the horse head-shaped, snow-capped mountain in the source, this river has been called Damqu Zangbo River since ancient times. “Damqu” means the head of a horse with mouth open. Therefore, the river is also interpreted as Maquanhe River in Chinese.
The source of the Yarlung Zangbo River comes from the glacier and mountain springs. Due to the horse head-shaped, snow-capped mountain in the source, this river has been called Damqu Zangbo River since ancient times. “Damqu” means the head of Therefore, the river is also interpreted as Maquanhe River in Chinese.
