“面向事实本身” ,寻求认识的绝对自明性 ,这是胡塞尔毕生所追求的目标 ,然而最后证明他失败了。因为他仍没有摆脱知性思维的困境 ,所以他的意向性结构依然是一个预先设定。在中国先秦哲学中 ,由于立足于生存论立场 ,对本体的把握最初就建立在自明性基础上 ,它是儒家通过“忠恕”原则建立的类的情感或道家作为直觉中的境界 ,与本体通而为一。所以 ,在这一点上 ,我们说中国先秦哲学具有现象学意义。既然哲学本源于人的生存需要 ,那么本体的明证性就只能在生存论中 ,而不在知识论中 ,这是中国先秦哲学所给予我们的启示
