Substantial evidence has suggested a protound therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in tissue repair/regeneration for a variety of diseases such as strokes and myocardial infarction.However, recent studies indicate that expansion of MSCs in adherent culture lead to a loss of critical features such as trafficking and homing and thereby affect their therapeutic effects.
