Bartolomaeus Eustachius born around 1510, had a successful career in Rome, becoming papal archiater and Professor of Anatomy and Practical Medicine.He died in 1574, while traveling, not far from his native San Severino.In his life Eustachius published only six booklets (Opuscola Anatomica 1563/4) among which are of importance those on kidney,teeth, auditory organ, and veins.
