According to the newest issued Competitiveness Evaluation Research Report of World-class Universities and Research Institutions(2014-2015),this article described world-class universities evaluations methods and indicator system at home and abroad,explained our world-class universities evaluations special practice,analysed evaluation results from three aspects,i.e.national(regional)research competitiveness rankings,ESI rankings of Chinese universities and sub-indicators rankings of world-class universities,and performed a comparative analysis on Chinas overall research competitiveness,the number of Chinese universities and the change of disciplines that entered into rankings in 2014 with 2013.
