Direct carbon fuel cell (DCFC) has a great potential to convert the energy of carbon directly into electricity without any pollution[1].Compared to hydrogen fuel cells, DCFC has higher thermal efficiency, lower cost and more flexible fuel supply,and is promising for commercial application[1].In this work, a novel carbonate/samarium doped ceria composite electrolyte (CSDCE) is employed in DCFC[2].
