The Three-Gorges Project in China is famous for producing electricity in order to meet the nationwide demand, reducing the potential for floods downstream, and increasing the Yangtze Rivers shipping capacity. The Chinese government regards this project as a historical success in the growth of the social-economic structureof China. However, because ofthe negative environmental and social effects of this project, the Three-Gorges Project has been a historically and politically controversial issue not only in China but all over the world. From the political, social, and environmental perspectives, this paper first addresses the determining factors that lead to the TGP decision-making in 1992 made by the Chinese government.Decision makersof building the TGP in the Yangtze River are primarily the State Council of the Chinese central government and the main stakeholder state-owned Power corporations.Through the use of cost-benefit analysis as the environmental decision-making tool, the Chinese central government is working within a system whereby the main stakeholders have shared common rules, values, interests, and information based on Chinese neoliberalism. As an intra-organizational political decision-making model, the TGP decision-making in 1992 is a reflection through a combination of the social-economic,political,and historical situations. This decision-making primarily results from the combined values of Chinese neoliberalism,Communism, and globalization.Second, this paper examines 3significant environmental and socio-economic impactsofthe Three-Gorges Project.Thesethree domains are geological hazards, biodiversity conservation, and displacement of around 1.3 million people. One main goal of this paper is to figure out how Social Justice Education and technology can be used as effective approachesto address environmental and socio-economic issues in the Three-Gorges Project based on Chinese neoliberalism,Communism, and globalization. Finally, this paper outlinesthat 3 main suggestions of using environment impact assessment with the aid of new technology on the Three-Gorges Project, advocating for the social justice education to the TGRA residents, and reconstructing an Indigenous worldview about ecological justice and social justice that brings nature and people back. All of these suggestions play essential roles in addressingthe environmental and social-economicissuesin the Three-Gorges Project.
