Serine proteinaes (SPs) and their homologs (SPHs) constitute a large family of proteolytic proteinase. They play key roles in many important physiological processes of insect, including cell signaling transduction, innate immunity, and development as well as metamorphosis. However, limited researches have been reported regarding the screening and functional studies of these two types of proteinases specifically expressed by parasitoid venom gland.
