John Wheeler was not only an outstanding theoretical physicist,but also made outstanding contributions to the development of U.S.national defense technology.He had participated in the work of the two nuclear bombs,ballistic missiles and space program in the United States with lofty patriotic fervor and sacred sense of responsibility.Engaging in scientific research in national defense,he also sparkplug the U.S.national defense technology education and the establishment of military scientific research system at the same time.As a strategic adviser,he offered suggestions to Government and Army.Wheeler,who dedicated to national defense with duty-bound life course,fulfilled a scientist’s responsibility for the nation and country.
