Long term performances of Pt/C must be improved without sacrificing initial activity in order to realize widespread commercialization of polymer electrolyte fuel cells.During fuel cell operation, various phenomena occurs such as Pt dissolution/re-deposition, Pt sintering and carbon corrosion, which all lead to a drastic decrease of the catalyst activity.
