Background: The causality of sympathetic activity and metabolic syndrome (MS) remained to be a chicken and eggquestion.The aim of the study is to reveal the causality of sympathetic activity and MS and to investigate whether there are gender differences in the relationship between sympathetic activity and MS in a 15-year follow-up cohort in our Chinese people.
