M(o)ssbauer spectroscopy _nds widespread use in bio-inorganie chemistry, in studies of materials and catalysis and has even been employed to explore the surface of the planet Mars[1].A fundamental observable is the M(o)ssbauer isomer shift δ=c/Eγ(△Eaγ-△Esγ)where c is the speed of light, Eγ is a nuclear Y-transition and △ Eγ refers to its modification due to electrostatic interaction between electronic and nuclear charge distributions for the source (s) and the absorber (a).
