Here I am going to report our recent research progress on multiscale simulations of functional materials and biomaterials.We use DFT and DFT+U to study bandgap engineering of TiO2 materials by passivation and doping.By combining atomistic simulation and mesoscale simulations, we are able to predict the morphology of the active layer of polymer solar cell, which is critical for its performance.By using large scale atomistic simulation, we successfully investigate the interactions between nanomaterials and proteins, which is critical for rational design of these nanomaterials for inhibiting enzymes.
