Omkoi district isone of twenty-five districtsof Chiang Mai Province, located in the Northern part of Thailand about 500-1,900 meters above sea level with area of 20,99.83 km2.There are 51,000 of populationin which most are ethnic group such as Karen, Lahu, Hmong, Tai-yuanand others.Surveys on medicinal plants with 7 herbalists of ethnics were carried outduring the year 2013-2015in 3 differences of forestsand seasons;by interviewing, collecting, and usingfocus group discussion between 3 ethnics and researchers beforeidentifying the plant specimens.It was showed that total of 208 species, 180 species were used for healing many ailments with 4 species were known in all herbalists and were used in similar diseases which wereBuddlejaasiaticaLour.Chromolaenaodorata (L.) R.M.King&H.Rob.Spatholobusparviflorus (Roxb.ex DC.)Kuntze and Flemingia sp.Medicinal plants can heal32 diseases and symptoms most of them were; gastro intestinal disorders, stomach aids, tonic and for extemal use such as bacterial and virus skin infection.The 40 remedies were used in form of compound medicines.TheBuddlejaasiaticaLour.samplewas collected and developed into a dermatological preparation.There are diversities of forests, wild animals and herbs,especially medicinal plants that are benefit to communities for self healthcare for people in the remote area.
