Stereoselectivity is one of the most significant properties of biocatalysts, which makes them the preferred choice in the biocatalysts-mediated asymmetric reduction of ketones to chiral alcohols.Halogenated chiral alcohols are one of the most important building blocks for preparation of antidepressants, anti-asthmatics, cholesterol-lowering agents, and adrenergic receptor agonists.
