Li-rich layered cathode material Li1.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13O2 with a rod-like morphology was prepared by a carbonate coprecipitation method followed by a high-temperature solid state reaction,and then coated with MnO2.The pristine and MnO2-coated samples were investigated through the characterizations of X-ray diffraction(XRD)and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).An amorphous MnO2 coating is obtained on the surface of layered pristine material.
