Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been extensively investigated to treat a wide range of diseases due to their easy accessibility, high self-renewal capacity, low immunogenicity, and free of ethical issues.More importantly, inflammatory tissues tropism renders them as a promising tumor-targeted delivery vesicle.Currently, genetic engineering is the major strategy in MSCs-mediated cancer therapy.However,using viral vectors for transfection of MSCs can lead to unwanted transformation and significantly increase the risk of secondary malignancies.
