  The structure and morphology especially exposed high-reactivity facets of semiconductors nano-or microcrystals usually exhibit high photocatalytic activities owing to the particular surface atomic arrangement and unsaturated dangling bonds.For a typical example, { 111 } facet of semiconductor has been demonstrated the superior surface atomic structure and electronic band structure, which significantly contribute to the enhanced photocatalytic activity.
