  Bark is one natural biomass material but hasnt been fully utilized until now.It is well known that the xylem of trees can be used to manufacture building and decorative materials.However,owing to lower density and weak strength,bark was burnt directly as a waste.The bark is a whole,which just depends on the chemical component of lignin.Inspired by this natural phenomenon,we tried to manufacture one new wood-based panel for decoration which didnt include any formaldehyde-based adhesive.Thus,it was pollution-free and more suitable for interior environment.In this work,the mashed bark particles from Masson pine were firstly softened by cooking and then treated with NaOH solution or untreated.
