This study aims to measure Chinas cultivated land use input,and then explore its patterns and trends.Nowadays,it is possible to obtain the data on crops planting inputs in China,thus,cultivated land use inputs are calculated based on crops planting inputs in this paper.The study finds that Chinas cultivated land use inputs have increased dramatically since 2008,and reached US$ 225.88 billion in 2012.Grain crops planting inputs were slightly higher than cash crops input during the period of 2004-2012.The Huang-Huai-Hai plain leads in input of grain crops and cash crops,the Northeastern region leads in input of grain crops but lags behind in input of cash crops.Cash crops become the highest labor-intensity substitute for grain crops in recent China.The study argues that Chinas cultivated land use input will rise and its structure will improve under the incentive of agriculture policies,especially food policies.
