Several major crop species are current or ancient polyploids. To better describe the genetic factors controlling traits of agronomic interest (QTL),it is necessary to understand the structural and functional organization of these QTL in relation to genome duplication.Indeed, genome duplication events may have an impact on the gene and/or allele diversity, and thus,on the diversity of mechanisms involved in the control of complex traits.
