Two-dimensional sum-frequency generation(2D-SFG)spectroscopy with the surface selectivity provides many more observable information than one-dimensional SFG,such as cross-peaks,2D line shapes, anharmonic shifts, and energy transfer, which has been a powerful tool to research the process of chemical exchange, spectral diffusion and vibrational energy transfer. In this paper,a 2D-SFG system involved two tunable infrared pulses and one fixed wavelength visible pulse was presented. In this 2D-SFG,the population on excited state was generated by a tunable IR pulse and probed by the following SFG process, which involves another tunable IR pulse and a visible pulse. The relaxation process of the gold film was explored through 2D-SFG spectroscopy.A notable modulation phenomenon was presented on the SFG spectra at different delay times, which may be related to hot electron relaxation and rephasing(introduced by the ultrashort laser pulse)at the gold surface.
